Borrowing an Electronic Book From ProQuest Ebook Central

ProQuest Ebook Central Database / e-Book Usage

İstanbul Bilgi University Library provides access to more than 500.000 e-books. You may access to e-books on-campus and off-campus without time and space restrictions.

To access the library web page, click the library button (www.bilgi.edu.tr) or click the http://library.bilgi.edu.tr  address for the Library home page.

Borrowing an Electronic Book from ProQuest Ebook Central Database;

You may access to the Bilgi Library home page at “https://library.bilgi.edu.tr/en/ then click the "Databases" button.

 

Click "E-book" tab on the filter by types.

 

Select ProQuest Ebook Central on the list of e-books. If you are off-campus, you will see the screen below directly. Login with your SIS user information or library account.

Click ‘Sign in’ on the right upper corner on the opening page.

 

If you have not previously set a username and password for ProQuest Ebook Central, click "Create an Account" on the page opened.

 

Fill out the necessary information and click "Create an Account"

 

Log in with your user name and password that you created.

Start searching with a simple or advanced search on the homepage. You may also browse the topics you are interested in.

You may narrow the results of your search by using the filter (Access status, published year, subject, language, and relevance etc. ). Select the title of the book you want to download.

 

You may read the book online by selecting "read online", or open the section you want to view in the table of contents. You may download the e-book by clicking the download button.

 

Clicking the "Download PDF" button will download the book in that format in which format you want to download. In order to read the downloaded e-book, the Adobe Digital Editions program must be installed on your computer and you must have an AdobeID. You can download the relevant program from https://www.adobe.com/tr/solutions/ebook/digital-editions/download.html link, and you can get your AdobeID via https://accounts.adobe.com  You can find the your e-book you downloaded in the 'Borrowed' area.

 

When you open the downloaded file, e-book will open with appropriate program. Downloading an e-book means; you borrowed the book online. On the return date, it will be removed from your account automatically. Select "Download PDF Chapter" if you need a certain chapter. In this way, you may download pdf file permanently.

 

Go to the chapter you would like to download from table of contents.

 

After opening the chapter you would like to download online, click Chapter Download from the top menu of the page. You may download the page range that you want as pdf with a certain page limit.
