Library and Electronic Resources

Bilgi Library offers an extensive system to support university degree programs, research and teaching. An impressive collection of books, periodicals, e-books, e-journals, academic Internet resources, music scores and other printed material are available in the library. Extensive audio-visual and sound recording collections are also available.
The library offers essential and supplementary resources for students in all academic disciplines. In addition, the library has a comprehensive range of cultural resources.
Classes and workshops are available at all levels and focus on general orientation, research tools, electronic resources and academic uses of the Internet or a combination of these.
These workshops are offered several times each semester.
In depth research classes for 4th year students writing dissertations are offered several times each semester.
Books, articles and other material required for all courses are shelved behind the Circulation Desk in the Reserve Section and can be borrowed on a short term loan.
It provides online access to digital material required for all courses placed on the reserve WEB. Electronic reserves are available online to students 24 hours a day, even when the library is closed.
Virtual Library contains 330,000 electronic books, 47,000 electronic journals, 110 electronic databases and encyclopedias. Access to these resources is available over internet, on-campus and off-campus.
European Union Information
European Union Information (EUI) is located in the İstanbul Bilgi University Dolapdere Library. The objectives of the EUI are to help the University promote and consolidate teaching and research in the field of European integration and make information on the European Union and its policies available to the public, both in the University and elsewhere. EUI's collection consists of most of all the official publications and e-resources of the Institutions of the European Union.
Library resources which are available in another campus can be requested via In-Transit system. İstanbul Bilgi University faculty members and graduate students can borrow and return any library resource at their campus library. Transfer requests must be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org, clearly indicating what resources to be transfered and source and destination campuses.
Interlibrary Loan and Document Delivery (ILL)
This service is available to registered faculty members. ILL processes requests from faculty to obtain loans or photocopies of material not owned by Bilgi Library. Faculty can submit a request via online request form at http://opac.bilgi.edu.tr/illb
The general public may use the resources in the library.
